SHORT ANSWER TYPE QUESTIONS

Question Nos. 1 to 10 are Short Type . Answer any 5 questions .

1. Where did the writer watch the play in “The Pace for Living”?

ANS- The writer watched the play in Dublin.

2. Who was the chief character in the play?

ANS-His Chief character in the play was an ageing corn merchant of a small Irish town.

3. What does the narrator do on Saturdays and Sundays?

ANS- The narrator collects garbage and other dirty materials causing pollution from several houses on Saturdays and Sundays to save ecology.

4. How the narrator succeed in getting Ms. Greene do something about ecology ?

ANS- Jim tried to convince Ms. Greene that she must not throw the newspapers and aluminium cans away but she did not listen to him. Jim did not succeed in getting her to do something about ecology.

5. Now did Gillu’ sustain wounds?

ANS- Gillu sustained wounds due to the assault by the pair of crows with poking their beaks on his soft tiny body.

ANS- Birds have long captured the imagination of humans. Their ability to soar freely through the sky has inspired feelings of envy and wonder in earthbound people. Throughout history, humans have sought to emulate birds, from the mythical Icarus to the Wright brothers’ pioneering flights. Birds have also played important symbolic roles, representing concepts like freedom, peace, and the soul. In many cultures, birds are seen as messengers between the earthly and spiritual realms. The relationship between men and birds is one of fascination, admiration, and a shared connection to the natural world. Though we may never truly take flight ourselves, observing the grace and power of birds remains a source of joy and inspiration.

Dear Maa,

I hope you are doing well at home. You must have a busy schedule as always and be helping Aunt with her wedding preparations. I miss being there to lend a hand. In our last letter, I could sense your concern about how I spend my day on the school campus, so this time I decided to give you a glimpse into what my typical day is like here. Around lunchtime, I and my friends go to the mess hall for some rajma-chawal and lighthearted conversation. As many of my friends are from different parts of the country, I am learning so much about the different cultures and foods.After recess, I have my four classes, which include Mathematics, Chemistry, Science, and English. In between, I also visit the library and read my favourite books. During the week, my favourite day is Wednesday evening, when I enjoy Hindustani classical vocal lessons. I wish you could join me here.

Q.14.ANS- We can do this by only buying what we need, avoiding single-use products, and opting for products with minimal packaging. Reusing items is a great way to cut down on waste and save money. Before throwing something away, we should ask ourselves if it could be used for another purpose.
