Short Answer Type Questions
1. Answer any 5 questions. Each question carries 2 marks:
a) What does Nalanda symbolise?
ANS- It symbolizes the most glorious period of ancient India.
b) What is another hurdle Gavaskar talks about?
ANS- Gavaskar has explained that the Delhi wicket is normally a beautiful batting track though it helps seam bowling initially, but this morning the bowlers got no help. In any case ,the west Indians are not quick in the air to swing the ball move after pitching, which is even more difficult. c) How will the discarding of clothes affect mankind?
ANS- The discarding of clothes would increase the mortality rate from pneumonia about a hundred times. Now we can imagine how badly it would affect mankind.
d) Why does the author compare a human body to a system?
ANS- Human body is a system obeying quite definite laws, J.B.S. Haldane had a very keen observation of human nature. He was a leading scientist, He has come to a very right conclusion that the human body is just like a system
e) What is meant by the marriage of true minds’?
ANS- ‘Marriage of true minds’ means mixing up of two into one heartily for the life long. A true lover lives for his love and dies for his love. This type of love is called marriage of true minds.
Long Answer Type Questions
a) Write a short paragraph on The Flood’ or ‘National Integration’.
ANS- A flood is a type of natural disaster that can be caused due to heavy and continuous rainfall at a place for a long time. Heavy rain, cyclones, storms, etc., can lead to flooding in an area. The water reserves are filled due to rain, and when it rains for a long time continuously, the overflow of water in water reserves may cause flooding. Some parts of India are prone to flooding during the monsoon, causing large-scale destruction to human lives, natural habitats, etc. But in some places, floods can occur due to man-made disasters and cause loss of property and human lives. Breaking the dam’s gates can be a major reason behind man-made disasters. Due to these floods, the flood water accumulates in the agricultural fields, damaging crops. It can lead to starvation and more deaths. Many farmers have been committing suicide due to the loss. Floods are dangerous to human lives as well as the economy of the country. Therefore, it is essential to take necessary measures to limit the effects of floods.
c) Write an application to the Headmaster / Headmistress of your school requesting him/her for permission to leave the school premises as you are not feeling well.

d) Write a report on your visit to Rajgir.
ANS- My visit to Rajgir made me feel that it’s a peaceful place situates in Bihar. It is to Patna through directly connected too is Patna only. It is surrounded by Rail Line. Neares small hills and jungle. The Aimport Venu Van (Bamboo Forest) is here only when the top of the are his first ever speech. There is a Budhha Mandir on the top of the Hill one can go there either by chairlift (60-70 round trip) or on foot. Apan from Buddhism Rajgir has connection to Hinduism also. The ancient name of the city was Rajgrih and it was the first capital of The Kingdors of Magadha. It was the Capital of the King Jarasandha. One can enjoy the ride of Tam-tam (Cart) for local sightseeing. There is a famous hot water springs.
